Good interface motion explains what changed. A panel moves because the user advanced, a control responds because an action succeeded, and a visual layer slows down to establish depth. Animation becomes noise when it has no relationship to the task.

We keep movement tied to user input, use stable layout dimensions, and avoid animations that block navigation. Reduced-motion preferences receive a complete experience with shorter or removed transitions rather than a broken version of the design.

Personality comes from timing, hierarchy, and restraint. The result can still feel expressive while remaining readable, keyboard accessible, and comfortable during repeated use.
